Cries of Hawaii
As a small state in the U.S, citizens of Hawaii are entitled to the same rights that every American is entitled to. What is happening in Otter Creek correctional center in Kentucky in terms of sexual abuse cases is very disappointing to know. The fact that female inmates are being sexually abused in this facility and no actions are taken or at least have not been taken totally contradicts the principles that the country stands for. I recall pledging to a flag that gave justice and liberty to all when i was in primary school. Never had it crossed my mind that this same flag would later contradict these standards. I can asked where is the justice that speaks on behalf of these helpless women from Hawaii who are being abused, and expect no answer because no one is righteous enough to defend these helpless individuals. Could it have been the same case if the abused were New Yorkers for instance? I can go on about asking such questions and no one would care to answer because the issue isn't important enough to deserve a discussion on a T.V show or even in CNN. Kentucky state officials need to take early actions, while officials in Hawaii need to publicize their cries. Just the idea that 81 percent of the guards in a female facility be men while 19 percent are women. This is just a fact that raises my eye brows, and one that individuals should consider.
